Go, Do

So this is a fairly new track by the artist Jonsi from Sigur Ros. If any of you guys listened to Sigur Ros they are a legit band, lots of laid back mellow music that is just awesome, really no other way to put it. Living in Seoul right now, I've been kind of preying on those artists making a stop in my city. Jonsi happens to be one of them, coming out here the beginning of October. Didn't know much about him, but my buddy Eric told me he switched up his style and is a little more uptempo than his Sigur Ros stuff. I downloaded it, loved it. You will to. Here's "Go Do" by Jonsi.

Lost In Translation

So I'm heading to an area in Seoul called Itaewon, its a huge foreigner spot. The US military presence is huge here. There have been times in this country where I have just felt utterly lost due to the language boundary. I was watching Lost In Translation again the other day, and this song "Air In Kyoto" by Air, comes on when Scarlett Johansen is walking through some palace in Kyoto. Great track, even better film. Enjoy.

Back In School

So I'm back in school after a great weekend. Today was long as long can get. Taught 5 straight classes, lost my voice. The hot english teacher gave me her number though, SHAPOW. To celebrate this feat, I'm gonna leave you with one of my favorite songs of all time. The People Under the Stairs have put out 7 albums and stayed true to themselves the entire time.

I have seen these two dudes in concert in both Beijing and Chicago, and they put on a crazy show. If they are ever in your area check them out, they will not disappoint. I'll end it here. This is their song "LA Song", enjoy!

Seoul for the next two nights!

So I am heading to Seoul for the weekend, trying to drink some soju and party in Hongdae. This is a jam I've been listening to for a while but seeing as I just started up this blog figured I would post it.

Cut Copy, an Australian electronic band, is relatively unknown in the US and I'm sure totally unknown in Korea. Great band, sounds a little bit like New Order back in the day and is one of those bands who has been doing the new indie electro music that has been getting popular lately for years. Check out this jam, "Hearts on Fire".

You Know About the David Blaine? Right?

So this new Big Boi CD is unreal. Everyone always calls Andre 3000 the best, most original member of this Outkast duo, but from listening to this album, you really need to question that. I loved "Speakerboxxx" and really wasn't to into "The Love Below" so for me I've always been more into Big Boi than his counterpart.

In this CD, which took Big Boi years to finally put out, he creates a sound unlike any we have heard before from anyone and really makes you wonder if he was the one who deserved all the credit given to Andre 3000 all along.

Check out my favorite track from the album, "The Train, Part II".
